BRUNO CATALANO is a contemporary French sculptor internationally recognized for his iconic series Les Voyageurs. Through deliberately fragmented bronze figures, the artist has developed a distinctive reflection on movement, identity, memory and absence over several decades.

Born in Morocco in 1960, Bruno Catalano left his native country at the age of ten to settle in France. His personal journey, shaped by displacement and travel, has had a profound influence on his work. After pursuing various professions, including working as a sailor, he gradually turned to sculpture and developed an immediately recognizable visual language.

His figures are often shown standing, carrying a suitcase, while part of their bodies appears to have vanished. The void becomes an essential component of the sculpture. It evokes both loss and memory, what is left behind and what continues to be carried within. Despite their fragmentation, the figures retain a remarkable sense of presence and balance, giving absence a tangible physical dimension.
