Biography

SENY (b. 2001): Seny's work currently stands out as one of the most accomplished propositions from the new generation of French urban art. Hailing from Vitry-sur-Seine—a historical hub for street art in the Paris region—the artist places portraiture at the center of his visual research.

Through the representation of children from across the globe, Seny masters the intensity of the gaze with remarkable precision, offering a contemporary interpretation of the human figure where hyperrealism meets urban aesthetics. Introduced to stencil techniques at the age of 14, Seny solidified his understanding of volume and materiality during his studies at the prestigious École Boulle in Paris. Distancing himself from traditional processes, the artist approaches the canvas frontally and instinctively.

In his studio, he orchestrates the encounter between contrasting mediums: the immediacy of spray paint and acrylic dialogues with the nobility of oil paint. This technical hybridization is elevated by an innovative use of oxidized metal plates. Through the action of heat and acid, Seny generates raw, organic textures that bring an almost sculptural dimension to his canvases.

Deeply influenced by pop culture, fashion, and design, his iconography finds conceptual roots in the work of artists such as Kaws, Daniel Arsham, and Banksy. Seny’s work now extends internationally, particularly in the United States, where he has executed notable murals in Atlanta and Miami’s renowned Wynwood district.
