Miroir des Mondes XL is a bronze sculpture by French artist
Dominique Rayou, in which two apple-like forms subtly transform into human presences. Facing one another, the two halves reveal profiles that seem to reach toward each other, connected by golden lips at the centre of the composition.
In this XL version, the larger scale considerably enhances the sculpture’s presence. The generous bronze volumes, the depth of the patina and the contrast between the intense red of the apples and the golden details give the work a particularly striking visual impact. Depending on the viewing angle, the eye shifts from fruit to face, from organic form to human body, gradually revealing the full ambiguity of the composition.
Through Miroir des Mondes XL, Dominique Rayou explores one of the central themes of his artistic practice: the encounter between nature and humanity. The apple becomes a body, the fruit becomes a figure, while the symmetry of the two elements evokes attraction and duality, desire and the relationship with the other. This poetic and sensual transformation is characteristic of the artist’s sculptural language.
With its imposing format and its balance between visual strength and refined detail, Miroir des Mondes XL by Dominique Rayou stands out as a powerful contemporary sculpture, designed to create a strong dialogue with the space around it.
