"Impermanence Medium" is a numbered bronze sculpture by Dominique Rayou, presented in an imposing 96 cm format. The larger counterpart of the 36 cm version, it amplifies the work's evocative power: the bitten, arched, anthropomorphic pear commands space with a striking sculptural presence. The curve of the fruit becomes a silhouette, the bronze becomes skin : a meditation on bodily beauty, the sensuality of living things, and the fragility of the moment.
Dominique Rayou, a self-taught sculptor born in Bordeaux in 1957 and based in Beynac, is celebrated for his ability to breathe human presence into organic forms. His numbered bronzes, cast using the lost-wax technique, are held in private and institutional collections across France and internationally.
