CRISTIAN is an original bronze sculpture by
Bruno Catalano, from his renowned
Les Voyageurs series, one of the most iconic bodies of work in contemporary sculpture. Recognisable by its fragmented figure captured in motion, this Bruno Catalano sculpture fully embodies the artist’s powerful and poetic universe, exploring themes of departure, absence, identity and travel.
Standing 50 cm high, CRISTIAN is distinguished by a particularly dynamic and expressive silhouette. Despite its more compact scale, the work retains all the visual strength associated with Les Voyageurs: the figure appears to move forward, suspended between two fragments of his own body, in a striking balance between presence and absence. His posture, slightly leaning forward, further reinforces this sense of movement: an unmistakable visual signature of Bruno Catalano’s Les Voyageurs sculptures.
The richness of the sculpture is revealed through the contrast of colours and the attention paid to detail. The orange-toned top immediately draws the eye, while the blue trousers bring depth and balance to the composition. The bag, treated with a nuanced green patina, becomes a true visual and symbolic anchor. Its volumes, handles and sculpted details reflect the level of precision characteristic of Bruno Catalano’s work. The face, beard and shoes complete the figure’s identity with subtlety, giving the character a strong presence despite the more intimate scale of the piece.
Through its dynamic composition, quality of finish and intensity of patina, CRISTIAN fully belongs among Bruno Catalano sculptures sought after by collectors. This 50 cm format offers a more intimate interpretation of the artist’s universe while retaining the sculptural and narrative power that characterises his monumental works.
CRISTIAN represents a rare opportunity to acquire an iconic Bruno Catalano sculpture in a 50 cm format: expressive, colourful, distinctive and deeply contemporary.
