GALASASCHA

GALASASCHA is the artist name of the couple Galina Brando and Alexander Abramov, who have been working together since 1985. Their collaborative practice is built on a constant dialogue between their two perspectives, personal histories, and shared cultural references.

The portrait series “The Face” exemplifies this approach: influenced by multiple aesthetic connections and a rich cultural context, it creates a “visual cocktail” blending references and reflections on contemporary media, art history, and the private sphere of both artists. Through these portraits, GALASASCHA questions the construction of the image, between intimacy and exposure, between personal memory and global visual culture.
