ABRAHAM PAPIKYAN

Abraham Papikyan  was born in 1983 in Yerevan, Armenia. From an early age, he was drawn to creating, exploring forms, materials, and visual expression through artworks and installations. Although this practice remained deeply personal for many years, it was always a constant part of his life, driven by an inner necessity rather than public recognition.

In 2018, after moving to Paris, he encountered an environment where art is not only present but lived. The atmosphere of the city, its visual richness and cultural depth, became a turning point. It was there that he began to express his work more openly, developing a distinct artistic language through glass.

His practice centers on the moment where opposites meet and interact. Strength and fragility, control and unpredictability, destruction and creation are not treated as contradictions, but as inseparable forces that define both material and human experience.

Working with glass as both medium and surface, he introduces impact as a decisive gesture. What appears as destruction becomes a process of revelation. The fractures do not follow a predefined path but instead reveal forms that emerge through tension and release.

Each work captures a singular moment of contact, where force initiates and fragility responds. The result cannot be replicated. Every piece is shaped by an unrepeatable interaction between gesture and material.

Through this process, the work extends into a dialogue with the viewer, evoking both emotional response and reflection. What remains is not only an image, but the trace of a real event, held within the surface of glass.
