Bruno Catalano

Bruno Catalano is a French sculptor born in 1960.

Bruno Catalano was acquainted with sculpting in 1981 in Marseille where he enrolled in Françoise Hamel’s modeling classes.

After two years of education, he opened his own art practice in 1985 and secured an oven in which he would bake his first clay figures. Catalano’s way to art was long and inspiring : sailor at the age of 18, he then became electrician before opening his own art workspace eventually.

Self-thaught artist succeeded in creating very original and unique sculptures. He was noticed by a Parisian art dealer in 2005 at the contemporary art fair.  His art works are now part of the most prestigious art collections around the world.

Bruno Catalano’s sculptures don’t get lost in the space, they compliments the place and stays there as they were always part of the surrounding. As he puts it in his own words : “When we travel we leave, even unconsciously, parts of us in the places, our vibrations, sounds, words”.
